TALX to Provide Expansive HR, Payroll and Tax Expertise at the 29th Annual American Payroll Association Congress

The sessions are designed to help employers streamline I-9 and unemployment processes, as well as better understand available tax credits and incentives. TALX is also scheduled to provide interactive in-booth and Demo Suite demonstrations during the Congress Expo.

As part of the U.S. Taxation and Forms track, TALX vice president Michael Mohr will co-present two educational workshops.  On Thursday, May 26 from 4:00 p.m.5:00 p.m., he joins Scott D. Shipman, Tax Management Services senior tax manager for TALX and Carl York, CPP of La Quinta Inns & Suites for "Tax Credits and Incentives Impact the Bottom Line by Leveraging Payroll Data," to outline location-based tax credits and review the federal, state and payroll incentives that help minimize employer tax liability.  

Additionally, Mohr will detail unemployment tax as it relates to the national economy with co-presenter, Brent R. Gow, CPP of Starbucks Coffee Co.  During "Unemployment Tax Impact on 2011 and Beyond," participants will learn about current trends in state trust fund solvency and what impact employers can expect.  The ninety-minute workshop – which takes place on Friday, May 27 at 8:00 a.m. – will provide guidance on federal and state legislative trends, as well as current and anticipated unemployment tax costs.

"Taking Control of Your I-9 Compliance" takes place on Thursday, May 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is part of the Congress' Government Affairs track.  TALX I-9 business line manager, Troy Hupp will co-present with Barbara M. Youngman, CPP of Brinker International to share how Brinker International improved I-9 management by converting from paper-based to electronic systems.  Hupp will also guide participants through the latest I-9 requirements at both state and federal levels.

Congress attendees may discuss these topics one-on-one with TALX experts and view live solution demos by visiting booth No. 1111 during open Expo hours. TALX interactive demos will also be available in Expo Demo Suite 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25.
