Equifax CIO Webb Receives Top Industry Award for Second Consecutive Year

ATLANTA, Aug. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Equifax (NYSE:EFX) Chief Information Officer David C. Webb has been named to the International Data Group CIO Magazine's 2013 CIO 100 for the second consecutive year. The awards program celebrates 100 organizations that are using IT in innovative ways to deliver business value.

Webb has a strong reputation using technology as a management strategy for business growth as evidenced by his selection as the CIO 100 award recipient for the second consecutive year.

At Equifax, Webb is responsible for the global technology and strategy operations and support for delivery of the company's innovative information solutions. Webb ushered in a new approach to 'big data', one that would allow Equifax IT engineers to crunch hundreds of terabytes in a matter of seconds using new indexing technology. In addition, he led efforts to create a unified platform. A 30-year veteran of the IT and financial services industries, Webb joined Equifax in 2010.

About the CIO 100 Awards:

The recipients of this year's CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and voted on the final 100.

To be selected, applicants must show not only that they have executed their project well but also that they have done so in uncommon, innovative ways: pioneering a new technology, applying a familiar technology to a new purpose, setting the bar higher for their competitors. And they must demonstrate business value, not just IT benefits.
