Equifax Appoints Trey Loughran as Chief Marketing Officer
ATLANTA, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) today appointed Joseph M. 'Trey' Loughran, age 47, as Chief Marketing Officer, succeeding Paul Springman, age 69, who has retired after 24 years of service.
"Over the past decade as CMO, Paul built out a world-class Marketing organization which is enabling us to deliver on our vision of becoming an insights-driven company," said Richard F. Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "I wish him and his family the best as he moves into this next chapter of his life. Paul has been a trusted leader and friend who touched numerous areas of the company during his tenure. We warmly thank him for his many contributions to our business."
Smith continued, "Our focus on investing in top talent and building internal bench-strength is one of the ways we ensure seamless succession planning. As a result, I am pleased we can immediately transition CMO responsibilities to Trey who brings a wealth of experience to the role. Trey will continue to report to me with a global span of control across all core Marketing functions including product management and innovation, data and analytics, brand, communications, pricing, and strategic marketing."
Loughran joined Equifax in 2007 as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to lead its Corporate Development and Emerging Markets function. In that capacity, Loughran led the acquisition of TALX Corp. (now Workforce Solutions), the largest to-date in Equifax history, as well as the company's entry into Russia and India. In 2009, Loughran was promoted to President of North American Personal Solutions, which provides credit monitoring and identity protection services to consumers, and which he led to strong growth and margin improvement in a challenging competitive environment.
Prior to joining Equifax, Loughran worked at BellSouth Corporation where he held a number of leadership positions, his last being Managing Director of the company's Corporate Strategy and Planning department. He also served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Atlanta, and as an attorney with King & Spalding in Atlanta.
